Coronavirus: Update

The office of Paul Gamber, DMD is following and adapting to a very fluid situation in regards to Coronavirus or COVID-19. Dr Gamber’s entire team is well trained in and follows universal precautions in regards to all communicable diseases including Coronavirus. We have Purell hand sanitizer dispensers outside of all operatories and in our waiting room for use by staff and guests. For the past 6+ years, we have used a Vaniman “air filtration system”, where 1000 sq ft/hr of the air in the office goes through a 4 stage “true HEPA” filtration system capturing everything from dust to airborne bacteria and viruses. Lastly, for the past 3+ years we partnered with Dis-Tek Solutions LLC. Dis-Tek utilizes Emist Electrostatic Technology to distribute a fine mist of hospital grade disinfectant and protectant for all surfaces throughout the office. This includes surfaces like door handles, light switches, magazines, pens, phones: literally everything from ceiling to floor.

Despite all the preventative measures we take, we are following the recommendations of the Mass Dental Society, the CDC and Governor Baker’s office. Effective immediately, March 16, 2020, we will cancel all appointments for elective procedures but will be available for all emergency services. We will reschedule and defer all elective treatment appointments until April 7, 2020. As health care professionals, we have a role to play in slowing the spread of the coronavirus and “flattening the curve” by following sound scientific evidence and public health advice.

The spread of COVID-19 will be determined by our collective actions now, and this action is being taken out of an abundance of caution. We believe by taking these extraordinary precautions, we can make a difference in helping to preserve the limited supply of personal protection equipment (PPE) critical for emergency dental care and frontline health care personnel responding to the pandemic.

We are asking all staff and patients to refrain from coming into the office if they are experiencing any upper respiratory type symptoms, have traveled internationally in the past 30 days and/or have been in contact with anyone who has or is suspected to have Coronavirus or is in self-isolation.

Thank you for your anticipated understanding and cooperation. Together, we’ll all get through this.
